The role of labor migration in the EAEU
One of the main goals of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is the formation of free movement of labor.
Tremendous work has been done to create favorable employment conditions within the EAEU.
For example, this year on the platform of the EAEU the Agreement on mutual recognition of documents on academic degrees in the EAEU member states was signed, which allows not to conduct procedures for the recognition of documents on education under the national legislation of the state of employment.
Education documents of many specialties (except for pedagogy, law, medicine and pharmacy) are mutually recognized in the territories of the EAEU member states, thus freeing labor migrants from going through a long and costly procedure of document recognition.
The issue of pension accrual for workers of the EAEU Member States has been settled, through which workers and their family members are granted equal rights to receive retirement/disability/survivors' pensions under the same conditions and in the same manner as citizens of the EAEU Member States.
A unified search system «Work without Borders», has been put into operation, which provides access to information on available jobs and vacancies. Work is underway to develop a «Eurasian electronic labor exchange» (initiative of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
Today, the number of able-bodied citizens of the EAEU member states is 93 million people, for whom equal conditions are created for labor activity in any of the EAEU member states.
